Crescent Women’s Medical Group, Inc. was officially established on August 1, 1989. The founding physicians’ goal was to establish the premier women’s health care group in southwest Ohio through being committed to quality care, service, education, and teamwork.
Currently the practice consists of Drs. Chandra Gravely, MD, who joined Crescent in February, 1997, and Cindy Hansel, MD, who came to Crescent shortly thereafter in July, 1997.
In order to serve a diverse set of women’s health needs, the corporation employed its first midwife and welcomed Rhonda Whitten, CNM in May, 1997 to complete our current group.

Chandra Gravely has been practicing in Cincinnati since the early 1990’s. She completed her medical education at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta and finished her Residency in Akron, Ohio. One of her many accomplishments is being awarded 2009 YWCA Career Women of Achievement.
Her mission is to encourage women to take an active role in their health and to provide caring and quality healthcare. Her medical interests include adolescent health care, management of fibroids, PMS, menopause, and management of abnormal pap smears. She tries to maintain a balance between work and her husband and 2 sons.
Dr. Cindy Hansel is a native Ohioan, raised in Akron, who graduated medical school from Wright State in Dayton, and completed her residency training at Cleveland’s MetroHealth Medical Center and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has extended her post grad education in both minimally invasive surgery and pelvic restoration.
Dr. Hansel strongly believes in Crescent’s mission to provide comprehensive compassionate care to women in all phases of their lives. Her medical interests include menopause, sexual health, osteoporosis, hereditary breast cancer, and abnormal uterine bleeding. Dr. Hansel is very involved in the State Medical Association. She enjoys spending her free time as a gourmet cook and watching the NFL.
Rhonda Whitten is a certified-nurse-midwife with thirty-three years of experience in the Greater Cincinnati area. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in women’s health.
Ms. Whitten provides well-women gynecology, including physical exams, pap smears, and period management.
Her interests are in working with her clients to explore all options including allopathic, holistic health, and alternative lifestyles and treatments. Her personal interests include her four grown children, singing in MUSE women’s choir, and cross-cultural contact.
